Cheap Laugh Tuesdays #3: Fantasy Research League

by azmanam on Sep 13 2011 (5691 Views)

Welcome back to Cheap Laugh Tuesdays (CLT)!  Every Tuesday, I'll post one of the science/chemistry-based cartoons I've found over the years.

This weekend was opening weekend to the (American) Football season.  I hope your fantasy team did better than mine did (I started Ben Roethlisberger instead of Eli Manning.  Oops).

Cheap Laugh Tuesdays #1: Ionic Attractions

by azmanam on Aug 30 2011 (7415 Views)

Welcome to Cheap Laugh Tuesdays (CLT)! I always throw a cartoon or comic strip up on the screen before I start class to lighten the mood and give the students something to look forward to.  After one year of teaching, I've developed quite a little collection of super awesome science & chemistry related cartoons.  I'll be posting them here on Tuesdays for a while.

Enjoy :)

Silly Find from the Internets

by maz on Dec 15 2009 (17877 Views)

Not much today. I saw this earlier and remembered having one of these moments back in G-chem that made me want to break the stupid buret. Actually, that happened on the last day of the semester, during checkout, after I washed it and was walking to the stockroom to return it. I forgot how long the damn thing was, and as I was walked out of the lab the door closed on it, cleaving it in two.

Why was this necessary for us learn in lab? Would have been much more useful to teach us how to make an electronic one instead.
